At least 22 insurgents were killed during Afghan forces ground and air operations in the past 24 hours across the country.
Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD) said on Sunday that at least six insurgents were killed in ANA clearing operations in the vicinity of Basram in Mihtarlam, Laghman’s province capital.
The ministry said that in separate ANA airstrikes and ground operations in Kama and Nazyan districts of Nangarhar province at least six ISIS terrorists were killed and one suspect was arrested.
During the operations, several vehicles, weapons, ammunition and bases belonging to the insurgents were also destroyed.
Yesterday, 16 insurgent were killed in two separate army operations carried out in Helmand province.
No insurgent has commented on the incident, so far.
