Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has expressed his desire to visit Rakhine state during his tour to Myanmar.
“I will seek permission to visit Rakhine state. If given permission, I will visit it,” he made the statement while talking to the journalists at the secretariat on Thursday.
The minister said: “I will go to Myanmar on October 23 and return on October 25. I will discuss about Rohingya repatriation during the visit.”
Two secretaries from the Home Ministry, police chief, coastguard chief, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) chief, Narcotics Control Department director general and Foreign Ministry director general will accompany Minister Kamal during the visit.
However, Myanmar government has not given permission to take journalists.
According to UNHCR, 520,000 Rohingya entered Bangladesh since August 25, fleeing the violence in Myanmar.
