The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will soon bring into circulation the new chocolate brown Rs 10 notes. The notes, bearing signature of RBI governor Urjit R Patel, will have India’s cultural heritage Konark Sun Temple as a motif on the reverse side.
Some salient features of the new Rs 10 notes:

The base colour is chocolate-brown.

The obverse side has a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, reverse side features Konark’s Sun Temple.

It carries the signature of Urjit Patel, governor of the Reserve Bank of India.

The new Rs 10 note’s dimensions are 63 mm x 123 mm.

It shares the same design template as other new notes printed post-demonetisation.

The number panel, situated at the top left and bottom right, has numerals going from small to big; a characteristic of all new notes.

The new Rs 10 note features a see-through register with the numeral ’10’.

It has ‘RBI’, ‘India’, ‘Bharat’ and ’10’ printed in micro letters.

The reverse side of the new note will feature the language panel, year of printing and the Swachh Bharat logo.

All Rs 10 in the earlier series will continue to remain valid currency.
